To see an example of DXF or DWG file import errors and warnings:

  1. Open a DXF or DWG file that contains entities that cause import errors.

  2. In the DXF/DWG Import Wizard, click Finish.

The translator imports the file into SolidWorks. Because the file contains entities that cause import errors, the Summary of DXF/DWG Import Errors and Warnings dialog box appears with the relevant error messages listed in summary format.

  1. Click any of the following:

  • Open Report. Generates an *.err text file containing details of the import errors. The file is located in the same directory as the DXF file and contains the same information shown as Details.

  • Details. Displays details of the import errors. This contains the same information as Open Report.

  • Summary. Displays a summary of the import errors.

  1. Click Close.
