Scene Editor

Use the Scene Editor to select and edit scenes from the Scene Library.

A scene consists of a virtual box or a sphere surrounding the SolidWorks model. You can resize and relocate the walls of the scene. In addition, you can toggle the visibility and reflectivity for each wall of the scene and add a background to the scene. A SolidWorks document can have only one scene assigned to it.

To select and edit a scene with the Scene Editor:

  1. Click Scene (PhotoWorks toolbar), PhotoWorks, Scene, or right-click a scene in the Render Manager Tab and select Scenery.

You can also select the Appearances/PhotoWorks tab to display scenes in the Task Pane.

  1. Select a scene from the Scene Selection area on the right, then select one of the following tabs:

    • Manager Tab. Selects scenes from the Scene Library.

    • Room Tab. Edits the size, visibility, and appearances of the selected scene.

    • Back/Foreground Tab. Edits the background and foreground of the selected scene.

    • Environment Tab. Adds and controls the attributes of an environment such as colors or images.

    • Lighting Tab. Selects predefined lighting scenarios and edits the global shadow control.

  1. Click Apply to accept the changes or click Undo to reverse the changes, then click Close to close the dialog box.

PhotoWorks applies the changes when you click Apply. You do not have to close the dialog box before you render.
