Hyperlinked Views in Drawings

This information is specific to one or more CAD systems. See the SolidWorks eDrawings functionality matrix for availability information.

Section line and detail circle annotations in drawing files hyperlink to the associated section or detail view. When you move the pointer over a section line or detail circle, the annotation for the related view is highlighted, and vice versa.

Hyperlinking views is supported in drawing files for all versions of eDrawings.

Example of a Hyperlinked View

  • Move the pointer over the section line. The section line annotation and the related section view annotation are highlighted.

  • Select the section line. The related section view (SECTION A-A in this example) zooms to fill the graphics area.

  • Select the section view title (SECTION A-A in this example). The drawing view with the section line zooms to fill the graphics area.
