Viewing the SOLIDWORKS Enterprise PDM Log File

Enterprise PDM events are recorded in a log file. You can use the details of log file error events to troubleshoot problems.

To view the log file, do one:

Location

Action

Left pane, Local Settings

Do one:
  • Double-click Log File
  • Right-click Log File and click Open.

Menus

Click View > Local Log File.

Windows Explorer

Navigate to the log file location and double-click the file with the .cog extension.

The default location is:

\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Local Settings\Application Data\SOLIDWORKS\SOLIDWORKS Enterprise PDM\

Where <user name> is the Windows logon user name on this computer.

The Log File dialog box opens in the right pane.
