Capping an Extruded Surface at One End

You can cap an extruded surface at one end or at both ends.

  1. Click Insert > Surface > Extrude.
  2. To seal an end of the extrude, under Direction 1 in the PropertyManager, select Cap end.

    You can seal the other end of the extrude by selecting Cap end under Direction 2. When you cap both ends of an extrude to define an enclosed volume, a solid is created automatically.
    When extruding from a face, the extrusion cap is a copy of the original face, translated along the extrude direction by the specified depth.

  3. Set other options and click .
