Log in to the VaultAdmin

To set vault options, user permissions, and so on, you must log in to the VaultAdmin.

Login user names are case insensitive. Passwords are case-sensitive and encrypted.

To log in to the VaultAdmin:

  1. In Windows, click Start > All Programs > SOLIDWORKS <version> > Workgroup PDM VaultAdmin.
  2. In the dialog box, enter the information described under Login information and click Login.

    The Workgroup PDM VaultAdmin dialog box appears.

Login information

Name (default pdmwadmin)
Password (default pdmwadmin)
Vault computer The computer on which the vault is located.
Save name and vault computer Saves the information locally.
If you save the login information locally, the information appears automatically in the Login dialog box. If you also save the password locally, the password appears automatically in the Login dialog box.
Save password If you save the login name and vault computer, you can also save the password.

Start Service

If the SOLIDWORKS Workgroup PDM Service is not running, the Login dialog box displays a Start Service button.

Before clicking Login, click Start Service to start the service.

Until the service is started, you cannot make changes using the VaultAdmin tool.
