To display this screen:

  • In the Costing Template Editor, click Custom.

The Custom screen is only available after you enter information in the Material and Thickness screens.

You can copy and paste numerical data in the Costing Template Editor.
Operation Sets the name of the custom operation.
Selection Type Select one of the following:

Part

Applies the operation cost per part. For example, serial number entry is applied per part.

Weight

Applies the operation cost per unit weight. For example, shipping cost is applied per unit weight.

Face

Applies the operation cost per square area of the selected faces. For example, painting cost is applied per square area.

Edge

Applies the operation cost per unit length of the selected edges. For example, deburring is applied per unit length.

Stroke

Setup Cost Sets a setup cost per lot for the operation. When the Operation is used during the Costing calculation, this Setup Cost is added to the Setup FM_folder.gif folder in the CostingManager and it is divided by the lot size to get the setup cost per part.
Setup Distribution Sets how to distribute the Setup Cost:

Divided Over Total Quantity

Setup cost is divided by the total number of parts (Setup cost per part = Setup cost / Total number of parts). For example, if the setup cost is 100 and the total number of parts is 100, then the setup cost per part is 1.

Divided Over Lot Size

Setup cost is divided by the lot size (Setup cost per part = Setup cost / Lot size). For example, if the setup cost is 100 and the lot size is 10, then the setup cost per part is 10.

Applied Once Per Part

Setup cost is applied per part (Setup cost per part = Setup cost). For example, if the setup cost is 100 then the setup cost per part is 100.

Always Include Determines if the Setup Cost should be included in the Costing estimates automatically or manually:

Yes

The Setup Cost is always included in the overall cost and appears in the Setup FM_folder.gif folder in the CostingManager.

No

The Setup Cost is not included in the overall cost. To add the Setup Cost to the overall cost, in the CostingManager, right-click the Setup FM_folder.gif folder and click Select Setup Cost, then click the setup cost.
