Environments and Backgrounds

You can load spherical environment images or 2D background images to display behind the model. You cannot display an environment and a background image simultaneously.

  Environment image Background image
Shape Spherical, wrap around the model. Rotates relative to a rotated model. Flat and static. Does not rotate, pan, or zoom with the model.
Support PhotoView provides environment images or you can add customized images. PhotoView does not provide background images but you can add your own.
Aspect Ratio The aspect ratio of the rendering does not depend on the environment. You can set the aspect ratio of the rendering to match the background image aspect ratio.

You can use these file formats for environment or background images:

The image path is stored as a document setting. If you move the image, make sure you also change the path.
