Increment Revision Dialog Box

You can increment either manually or automatically as part of the workflow.

To display this dialog box, select a file and click Modify > Increment Revision.

Version of references Shows the reference tree by using:

  • Referenced version. Uses the attached version of the references.
  • Latest version. Uses the latest version of the references.
File Name

Selected files and files referenced by them. For assemblies, the list can include drawings, parts, sub-assemblies, and SolidWorks Simulation files.

The related drawings can be in the current folder or in a folder elsewhere in the vault. By default, Enterprise PDM checks the entire vault for related drawings. The scope of the search depends on administrative settings.
Result

Result validates whether you can increment the file's revision, either OK, a warning, or an error.

Inc. Rev. Lets you select files to increment.
Version File version to increment.
Checked Out By User who has the file checked out, or blank if not checked out.
Found in Vault folder containing the file.
Revision Current revision.
Next revision Next revision.
State Workflow state of the file, for example, Approved.
Comment Stores a comment within the file history about the increment revision operation.
