View with SolidWorks eDrawings

View SolidWorks eDrawings, SolidWorks, and AutoCAD documents in eDrawings.

The vault administrator can specify on the VaultAdmin Vault Settings tab that clients can use SolidWorks eDrawings Professional tools even if they do not have a SolidWorks eDrawings Professional license.

SolidWorks eDrawings Publisher is available only with a full installation of SolidWorks eDrawings. SolidWorks Workgroup PDM installs only the SolidWorks eDrawings Viewer.

To view a document with eDrawings:

  • In the vault view of the SolidWorks client, right-click a document and select Document Information, then select the View tab.

  The document appears on the View tab in the Workgroup PDM Document Information window with eDrawings tools and toolbar available. For eDrawings help, click Help, eDrawings Help Topics on the eDrawings toolbar.

  • In the vault view of the SolidWorks Explorer client window, select a document and select the View tab in the right pane.

When you view a document in eDrawings, a copy of the document is saved in a temporary viewing files folder specified in Options.
