Environmental Impact of Painted Parts

When a part is painted, the surface area of the part is used to determine the amount of paint and the environmental impact of painting the part.

Sustainability_paint

Using the Paint Options drop-down list in the Manufacturing section of the Sustainability task pane, you can indicate that a part has:

  • No Paint
  • Water-based Paint
  • Solvent-based Paint

The change is immediately visible when you add or change the paint setting. For most parts, adding paint results in a relatively small change in the environmental impact.
