The Axes dialog box lets you control the appearance of the axes while viewing the results. The axes represent the global or local coordinate system used in the plot definition.
To access this PropertyManager, activate a plot with a reference axis or coordinate system. Right-click in the graphics areas and select Axes.
Style
Line |
Shows axes as lines. |
Cylinder |
Show axes as cylinders. |
Line Width |
Controls the width of lines to plot axes. |
Axis
Disable Title |
When selected, the titles of the axes (X, Y, Z) are not shown on the plot.

Size X, Y, Z |
The sliders control the length of the X, Y, and Z axes on the plot. |
TicK X, Y, Z |
Controls the number of uniformly-spaced Tic marks on the X, Y, and Z axes. |
Color |
Control the colors of the X, Y, and Z axes. To modify a color, click on it, select the desired color, and click OK.

Grid
XY, YZ, ZX |
Sets the planes of optional grids. You can check all, some, or none of the check boxes. The densities of the grids are specified by the specified Tic marks.

Edit Color |
Sets the color of the grid. To modify the grid’s color, click Edit Color, select the desired color, and click OK.

Location
Sets the location of the origin of the axes.
Origin |
The result axes will be placed at the actual origin of the reference coordinate system used in the plot definition. |
Lower Left |
The result axes are placed in the lower right corner of the plot window. |
Lower Right |
The result axes are placed in the lower right corner of the plot window. |
Disable |
Select to disable the display of the axes on the plot.

Consider a cylinder that is subjected to an internal pressure and fixed at the bottom. The hoop stress is plotted with respect to a cylindrical coordinate system defined by the axis of the cylinder.
