Iso Clipping PropertyManager

The Iso Clipping PropertyManager allows you to view surfaces of a specified value of the plotted result. You can create up to six surfaces simultaneously.

Iso 1 and Iso 2

For stress plots, Ico Clipping is available for nodal values only.

Isovalue Sets the value of iso surface to be plotted. Reverse clipping direction changes the direction of the cut to the opposite side.

Iso 3

This section appears after you select Iso 2. Use Iso 2 and Iso 3 to create additional section views in the model.

Options

Plot on iso surface only If checked, the program displays surfaces with the value specified in the Isovalue box. If not checked, the program displays surfaces with values equal to or larger than the value specified in the Isovalue box.
Show contour on the uncut portion of the model If checked, the program displays the result contours on the uncut portion of the model. If not checked, the program displays uncut portion of the model in the shaded view mode.
Reset Resets the selections to the default values.
Clipping on/off Turns the clipping of the active plot on/off.

Creating Iso-Surface Plots

To create iso surfaces of the active plot:

  1. Activate the desired plot by double-clicking on its icon in the Simulation study tree.
  2. Right-click the plot icon and select Iso Clipping or click (Simulation Result Tools toolbar).
  3. In the PropertyManager, under Iso 1, type a value for Isovalue or drag the slider to specify the desired iso value.

The plot updates to show surfaces with values greater than the Isovalue.

  4. To view surfaces less than the Isovalue, click Reverse clipping direction .
  5. To further modify the plot, select Iso 2, specify an Isovalue, and click Reverse clipping direction if necessary.

You can repeat the previous step to define up to 6 isovalues.

  6. Under Options:
    1. Click Reset to reset the values in the PropertyManager to the initial state.
    2. Click Clipping on/off to turn the clipping of the current plot on or off.
  7. Click .
