Viewing the Deformed Shape of the Model

To view the deformed model:

  1. Double-click Deformation in the Results folder in the SimulationXpress study tree.

    The deformed model is displayed.

  2. Click Play animation or Stop animation .
  3. When you are finished viewing results, click Done viewing results to continue.
The deformation scale refers to the scale factor that the program uses to scale the deformed shape of the model. The value of the scale factor depends on the model’s largest dimension and the calculated deformations.

For example, a scale factor of 50 means that the largest deformation calculated by SimulationXpress is shown as 50% larger than the largest dimension of the smallest boundary box that surrounds the model.

A larger deformation scale factor helps you visualize deflections that are a lot smaller compared to the original dimensions of the model.
