Adding Color to Library Features

You can add color to a library feature document (.sldlfp), or to a library feature in a target part.

If you apply color to the library feature document, the following results:
  • The color propagates to all configurations.
  • Each time you add the library feature to a target part, the applied color is displayed.
In the target part, library features that consist of more than one feature use the color specified under Tools > Options, on the Document Properties tab, and select Model Display.

To change the color of library features:

  1. Select the library feature from the FeatureManager design tree.
  2. Click Options Tool_Options_Standard.gif (Standard toolbar), or click Tools > Options.
  3. On the Document Properties tab, select Model Display.
  4. In the Model\Features colors box, select Library Feature.
  5. Click Edit, select a color from the color palette (or create a custom color), then click OK.
  6. Click OK to close the Options dialog box.
If you changed the color applied to the library feature:
  • All future applications of this library feature will include the new color.
  • All current applications of this library feature include the new color if you selected Link to library part.

If you changed the color applied to the library feature inserted in the target part, all inserted library features use the new color.

You can also add appearances to a library feature.
