Horizontal and Vertical Report Formats

You can create inspection reports that are formatted vertically or horizontally without having to change the report format in Microsoft Excel.

In the horizontal report format, characteristics are listed in a column, and the properties of each characteristic (for example results, or inspection methods) are listed horizontally by row.

To select the report format:

  1. Click SOLIDWORKS Inspection and select Template Editor.
  2. In the dialog box, select a template and click Open.
  3. In the SOLIDWORKS Inspection Template Editor dialog box, select one of the following:
    • Vertical Based Template
    • Horizontal Based Template
  4. Complete other template editor selections, and click Finished.
