Solver Performance

The Flow and Warp analysis solvers are improved. A new solver, which is based on the CICSAM (compressive interface capturing scheme for arbitrary meshes) method for flow front tracking, is the default Flow solver for plastic injection molding analysis.

Solver performance enhancements include:
  • A new option for a Flow solver for flow front tracking. In the Fill Settings PropertyManager, click Options. Select CICSAM for Volume of Fluid Algorithm.
  • A quadratic mesh option is added for the Warp solver.

In the Warp Settings PropertyManager, click Options. In the Modify Calculating Parameters of WARP dialog box, select High quality mesh (Quadratic) for more accurate warp analysis results.

  • Option to control the solver CPU number. In Settings and Help (Plastics CommandManager), set the Solver CPU Number from 1 to the maximum available core processors on your computer.
