Moving the Camera

You can rotate, pan, and zoom the camera relative to its look-at point (the point in the scene that the camera is focused on). You can also change the look-at point and save a camera to a file.

By default, the camera is restricted to moving above the floor. To move the camera below the floor, clear Keep Above Floor on the Camera tab of the Palette.

To rotate the camera:

Do one of the following:

  • Press Alt + click and drag.
  • In the toolbar, click Camera Tools > Rotate , then click and drag.

To pan the camera:

Do one of the following:

  • Press Alt + middle mouse button and drag.
  • In the toolbar, click Camera Tools > Pan , then click and drag.

To zoom the camera:

Do one of the following:

  • Press Alt + right mouse button and drag.
  • In the toolbar, click Camera Tools > Zoom , then click and drag.

To twist the camera:

Do one of the following:

  • In the toolbar, click Camera Tools > Twist , then click and drag.
  • In the Palette, on the Camera tab, enter a value for Twist.

To reset the camera:

In the Palette, on the Camera tab, click Reset Camera.

To lock the camera:

Do one of the following:

  • In the Palette, on the Camera tab, select Locked.
  • In the Camera panel, select a camera and click Lock Camera .
