Checking Out

Check out an item to modify it. While you have the item checked out, other users can view but not modify it.

Many operations, such as adding or removing links to items or files, automatically check out the parent item.

To check out items:

  1. Select the items, then right-click and select Check Out.

If you selected one item with no child items, it is checked out. Otherwise, the Check Out dialog box appears.

  2. In the Check Out column, ensure the items you want to check out are selected.
  3. Click Check Out.

The main pane lists your name under Checked Out By for the items you checked out.
