After using the Search tool tabs to define search criteria, you can save and share frequently used searches.
- Start a search in Windows Explorer or a search that uses the SOLIDWORKS PDM Search tool.
- For each tab, specify search criteria.

In a search in Windows Explorer, expand the Favorite
Searches
(SOLIDWORKS PDM menu bar) flyout menu and click Add to Favorites
.
- In the Add to Favorites dialog box, type a name for the favorite.
To place the search in a submenu, type the name in the following
format:
submenu_name\favorite_search_name
- Under Users who may see this favorite, select users.
- Select May Edit for users to have edit permission for the saved favorite search.
- Under User groups that may see this favorite, select groups.
- Select May Edit for groups to have edit permission for the saved favorite search.
- Click OK to save the favorite search.
