Palettes
Palettes are areas that manage drawing entities, properties, and resources.
The palettes include the:
- Properties Palette. Lets you view and change drawing entity properties.
- Layers Manager Palette. Controls layers and layer properties and lets you apply layer group or property filters.
- References Palette. Lists and manages drawings and images that are referenced in a drawing.
- Design Resources Palette. Lets you access resources and contents from other drawings on your computer or network places.
- Design Resources Palette. Lets you access resources and contents from other drawings on your computer or network places.
- Drawing Recovery Manager Palette. Lets you recover drawings after unexpected system failures.
- Lighting Palette. Lists and controls the lights inserted into the drawing to create realistic renderings.
- Tool Matrix Palette. Lets you collect and arrange toolbars on a panel.
- Plugins Palette. Lets you manage application plugins provided by third-party vendors.
- Parameters. Lets you view and modify Dimensional Constraints parameters.
- Home Palette. Contains centralized links to online and web tutorials and webinars, community resources and support, and the latest CAD news.
Palettes can be floating or docked. Usually palettes are docked to the left or right side of the drawing window.
To save space in the graphics area, you can also overlap palettes in the left or right docked location. Activate a palette by clicking the palette's tab.
You can set palettes to automatically collapse whenever you move the pointer away from the palette. They expand when you move the pointer to the title bar of a collapsed palette.

To make a palette floating:
- Do one of the following:
- Double-click the title bar of the palette.
- Drag the palette's title bar to a new position.
To dock a floating palette:
- Do one of the following:
- Double-click the palette's title bar.
- Drag the palette's title bar to a margin of the graphics area.
- Right-click the Auto-Hide button and click Dock Left or Dock Right.
- Right-click the Auto-Hide button and click Dock Left or Dock Right.
To automatically hide all palettes when you move the pointer away from the palette:
To keep all palettes expanded:
- Do one of the following:
- Click the Auto-Hide button .
- Right-click the Auto-Hide button and clear Auto-Hide.
