Use the Toolbox-Layer Preferences dialog box to set you preferences for layers and line types for Toolbox hardware, holes and surface finish symbols.
You configure
Mechanical Toolbox layers in the same way as other DraftSight
layers.
To open the Toolbox - Layer Preferences dialog box:
In the Toolbox - Hardware, Toolbox - Holes, or Toolbox - Surface Finish Symbols dialog box, expand Settings and click Change.
Layer creation details
This section lets you specify layers for
Mechanical
Toolbox to add to the active document and choose the layers
LineColor, LineStyle, and LineWeight
properties.

Layer

Sets the layer to configure.

LineColor
|
Sets the color assigned to the layer. If you change the layer color, all Toolbox entities inserted in the layer assume the new color.

LineStyle
|
Sets the line style used to sketch the Toolbox entities you insert on the layer.

LineWeight
|
Sets the line weight applied to all entities on the layer. |

Opens the Toolbox - New Layer dialog box, where you can designate a new layer and select its LineColor, LineStyle, and LineWeight. |

Deletes the currently selected layer. |

Use this section to set the active layer for a selection of
Mechanical
Toolbox entity categories.

Visible Lines
|
Sets layer and line properties for
visible lines.

Hidden Lines
|
Sets layer and line properties for
hidden lines.

Sets layer and line properties for
centerlines.

Centerline Control
|
Sets centerline properties such as
extension length and visibility in various views.

For surface finish symbols, only visible
lines is available.

Available if you select Visible Lines, Hidden Lines, or Center Lines as the entity category:

Layer

Sets layer to use for the selected entity category.

|
Sets line color used for the selected entity category. |

|
Sets line style used for the selected entity category.

Sets line weight used for the selected entity category.

Applies the settings to all categories of hardware or holes, or all symbols. When cleared, the settings are only applied to the category you are configuring.
For example, suppose you are configuring nuts in the Toolbox - Hardware dialog box. If you select this option, the changes apply to nuts, bolts, washers, etc. If you clear this option, the changes apply only to nuts.

| Extension amount |
(Unavailable if Auto sizing is selected below.) Sets the length that the centerline extends beyond the model geometry.
Each Toolbox geometry has a minimum length.

Automatically sets Extension amount to a value that depends on the system variable SETUNTTYP in the template you are using. If SETUNTTYP is set to 0 (inches) the extension amount is 0.01253.
If SETUNTTYP is set to 1 (mm), the extension amount is 0.125.

Enables centerlines in Near side and Far side views. |
| Include in side views |
Enables centerlines in Side view, Hidden side view, Section, or Hidden views. |
