The Topo Tracer
Pane
contains the Basic and Advanced
tabs.
To open the Topo Tracer Pane, import an image and
do one of the following:
- On the ribbon, from Drafting and Annotation, click .
- Enter TOPOTRACE at the
command prompt.
Topographic map profile
The software automatically detects the profile type of the image.
Profile

Provides preset types with varying quality and
resolutions for:
- High-Res
Image
- Med-Res

- Lo-Res

Tracing options

Hover over a line and click to
manually trace a new line. |

Splits a line in two and lets you
retrace over line segments. |

Red dots indicate gaps. Click red
dots to join the ends of two line segments. |

Swaps a line segment with

elevation |
Specifies a value for the base
(ground) elevation. |

Selects a point in a line and
specifies a value to increase line elevation for a segment. |

Specifies a value in pixels for
line thickness. |

Specifies the width of the square
used to trace a line
segment. |
Landscape type options

Build 3D relief
Generates a 3D relief of the topographical image in the graphics
area. Delete the 3D relief by clicking Remove 3D
relief.
Save settings
Creates a custom profile based on the settings you select.
Abort
Stops the tracing process.
Close
Closes Topo Tracer and maintains the imported image in the graphics
area.
Cancel
Closes Topo Tracer and deletes the imported image.
