Managing Predefined Layers and Layer Properties To manage predefined layers and layer properties: In the Toolbox - Settings dialog box, on the Layers screen, click the DraftSight Entities tab to map predefined layers to basic entity types: Select an Entity Type. In the Layer Name column, select a layer to place entities of the specified type on a layer. Select "<active>" to place entities of the specified type on the active layer. In LineColor, LineStyle, and LineWeight specify the properties to apply for the entities. In general, it is recommended to specify "ByLayer" for these properties. Use the Layers tab to assign the LineColor, LineStyle, and LineWeight properties to individual layers. Click the Toolbox Entities tab to map predefined layers to specific parts, symbols, or table: Select an Entity Type. Click + in front of a part to expand a list entry for a part to specify separate layers for visible, hidden, and center lines in the part geometry. In the Layer Name column, select a layer to place entities of the specified type on a specific layer. Select "<active>" to place entities of the specified type on the active layer. In LineColor, LineStyle and LineWeight, specify the corresponding properties to apply when entities of the specified type are created. In general, it is recommended to specify "ByLayer" for these properties, not divergent ones. Use the Layers tab to assign the LineColor, LineStyle, and LineWeight properties to individual layers. Click the Layers tab. You can do the following: Select a Layer name in the list and set the LineColor, LineStyle, and LineWeight for the layer. Click New to create a new layer in the list.
