Piping and Tubing Database Dialog Box

The Piping and Tubing Database contains piping and tubing part configurations. You can filter or modify configurations in the database to streamline component selection when you create Routing assemblies from incomplete P&ID data.

To display this dialog box, do one of the following:
  • Click Tools > Routing > Routing Tools > Routing Library Manager, and click Piping and Tubing Database .
  • From the Windows Start menu, click All Programs > SOLIDWORKS version > SOLIDWORKS Tools > SOLIDWORKS version Routing Library Manager > Piping and Tubing Database .
Upload to Platform Only available if you use the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. Allows you to upload piping and tubing files to the Platform. The files are synchronized with the database file.
Select Components Lets you add parts to the Routing library. If you select:
  • Already imported, you can set the Type and SubType for the parts.
  • Not yet imported, the parts in Library path directory that are not already in the database are listed.
Import Data Imports Routing library part data to the database. If you use the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, you can also upload the files on the Platform.
Export Data Writes the data in the database table back to the Routing library part files.
Type Displays data for all configurations of a selected part type.
SubType When available, displays the specific type of part, for example, globe valve.
SKEY Assigns the selected SKEY to the part for all configurations.
File Name Displays the part name.
Config Name Displays the configuration name.
Size Displays the nominal size of the configuration.
  Path Displays the part location.
Schedule Displays the configuration schedule, as defined by the industry standard.
Class Displays the pressure rating that the configuration can accommodate, as defined by the industry standard.
Part number, Description, Material, Manufacturer Displays user-defined information from the Routing library part.
Filter Filters a database column, based on selected filtering criteria.
Add Column Opens the Custom Property dialog box in which you select a property to add as a new column to the table. You can fill in the column data.
Custom Property Opens the Custom Property dialog box in which you select a property to temporarily replace the existing property.
Save Saves changes to the database.
