Menu: Modify > Layers |
Opens a dialog box that lets you manage the layers of the current DWG
file. Each DWG file has an unlimited number of layers.
When managing the layers in a DWG file, available options appear in
the Layer management dialog box.
Add layer: Creates a new layer.
You can change its name in the Name
column.
Delete selection: Deletes the
selected layers. You cannot delete a layer containing entities.
Set selected layer as current:
Select a layer in the list to assign it as the Current
layer. The current layer is the one on which you draw. It is identified
in the list by a specific icon.
Each layer is associated by default to a color,
a line type, and a line
weight. Entities drawn on this layer have these parameters by default.
You can select these items by clicking the cell corresponding to the layer.
You can hide layers for viewing and printing.
Show: Allows to show or to hide
the entities placed in the layer. Hidden entities are not printed.
Frozen: Graphically, this command
is similar to the Show status.
On large files, it is recommended to use the Show/Hide
status. The display of all entities will be faster.
Print: Defines if a layer can
be printed or not (hidden layers are not printed).
