The terminal edition is automatically displayed after insertion.

Associate with an existing mark

If you want to associate a Terminal strip or a terminal with an existing mark, select it in the list on the right, or manually give it the same mark and use the [= >] button to create an association.

At the top of the dialog box, filters can help you find an existing component.

For a multi-level terminal, you can associate only the level you want, by selecting the circuit in the list.

Terminal Strip

Mark

The terminal strip mark is automatically calculated according to the electrical project settings.

Mode: If you select the Automatic mode, the mark is automatically calculate according to the configuration settings. If you select Manual mode, you must enter the mark manually in the Mark setting.

Mark: Displays the automatic mark or used to enter the manual mark.

Root: Displays the root associated to the terminal strip depending on the terminal strip class.

Number: Displays the order number assigned to the terminal strip. You can change this number but you cannot use an existing number.

Permanent component: When the last symbol representing the terminal strip is deleted, the terminal strip is also deleted. If you check this box, the terminal strip is not deleted.

To delete a permanent terminal strip, use the command Delete component in its contextual menu in the Components tab (dockable panel).

Hierarchy

Class : Allows you to change the terminal strip classification. This is used when you assign a manufacturer part. It also allows you to define the root used during automatic marking.

Parent: Displays the name of the main terminal strip which a child or sub component is dependent on.

Location / Function: During symbol insertion, the location (function) is automatically taken from the drawing, or the location (function) outline if the symbol was inserted inside one. You can assign a different location (function) by clicking the button [...] and selecting the location (function) you want.

Mark

Number: Displays the order number assigned to the terminal. You can change this number but you cannot use an existing number.

Permanent component: When the last symbol representing the terminal is deleted, the component is also deleted. If you check this box, the terminal is not deleted.

To delete a permanent component, use the command Delete component in its contextual menu in the Components tab (dockable panel).

Manufacturer data

This data comes from the manufacturer part, but can be manually modified. The data types are specified in the definition of the class.

Description

The first translatable data field of the component. You can enter a description in all languages managed in the electrical project.

User data / Translatable data

The user data fields can be used to enter all information that you would like to manage for the component.
