Locations

Menu: Electrical project > Locations

Dockable panel > Contextual menu of the electrical project: Electrical project > Location management

A location is a place. Different locations are generally connected by cables.

Every electrical component (such as devices or terminal strips, PLC) belongs to a location. It is, therefore, possible to include electrical components by location in order to obtain different lists based on the equipment contained in each location.

Every drawing is associated with a location, so when you place a symbol in this drawing, it will automatically be associated with this location.

A dialog box opens allowing you to manage the locations of the electrical project.

Some of these features accept the multi-selection, such as Delete or Properties.

New location: Allows you to create a new location.

Create several locations: Allows you to create several locations in one operation.

Delete: Deletes the selected locations.

Properties: Opens the properties dialog box of the selected locations. If you select several locations, the Properties dialog box displays only the common properties.

Default location: The selected location is defined as the default location.

Tree display: Displays the locations in a tree view.

List display: Displays the locations in the form of a list.

You can also manage a location hierarchy.

In the above example, location L3 is included in location L1. By a Drag and Drop, you can drop an L3 slide onto L1, or select L1 before creating L3.
