Help Menu

Help commands let you register the product, access product documentation, and manage your license.

The Help menu is located in the upper-right corner of the Composer window.

Icon Command Name Description
Contextual Help Opens this help system and displays the topic appropriate to your location in the application.
Tip: You can also press F1 to activate contextual help.
Help Topics Opens this help system at the top level.
Getting Started Topics Opens this help system at the Getting Started topics, which provide a quick overview of Composer capabilities.
Use Web Help

Opens the online help from http://help.solidworks.com. You can choose the online help or local help. Select this option to access the online help for SOLIDWORKS Composer. Clear it to access the local help.

Note: If this option is selected, Contextual Help, Help Topics, Getting Started Topics, What’s New topics open from http://help.solidworks.com.

Programming Guide Opens the Composer Programming Guide, which documents the Composer application programming interfaces (APIs) and command-line interface.
Video Tips Opens the SOLIDWORKS Composer YouTube channel.
What’s New? Opens the What’s New topic for SOLIDWORKS Composer.
Save Log File Saves an XML file containing useful information for technical support such as product version, operating system, RAM, and last operations performed.
SOLIDWORKS Rx SOLIDWORKS Rx analyzes your system, suggests possible solutions, and captures data that can help technical support personnel diagnose problems.
Activate License Opens the SOLIDWORKS Product Activation window where you can move your product licenses to a new or upgraded computer and activate or reactivate your product licenses. You can also display the activated product license information.
Deactivate License

Opens the SOLIDWORKS Product Activation window where you can activate or deactivate your SOLIDWORKS product licenses.

Note: Deactivate your license only if you want to upgrade your computer hardware or move your software to another computer.
