Editing Configurations

When you edit an existing configuration, you can modify the model, change configuration properties, and suppress or unsuppress features or components.

Editing a Configuration

To edit a configuration:

  1. Activate the configuration.
  2. Change to the FeatureManager view, then:
    • In a part document, change items such as the suppression state of features and feature dimensions.
    • In an assembly document, change items such as the suppression state or the visibility of components.
    When available, specify This Configuration, All Configurations, or Specified Configurations in PropertyManagers and dialog boxes to limit changes to the configurations that you want to change.

    In the PropertyManager, you can specify what happens to a configuration when you add new items to other configurations.

Editing Configuration Properties

To edit the configuration properties:

  1. In the ConfigurationManager: CAD Family tab , right-click the configuration and click Edit Physical Product or Edit Representation . In the ConfigurationManager tab , right-click the configuration, and click Properties.
  2. Specify options in the PropertyManager.

Suppressing Features or Components in Configurations

To suppress features or components:

  1. Select the features or components to suppress (or unsuppress).
  2. Click Edit and choose from the following menu items:
    • Suppress
    • Unsuppress
    • Unsuppress with Dependents
  3. Then select:
    • This Configuration
    • All Configuration
    • Specified Configuration. Select configurations in the dialog box that appears, then click OK.
