About Wiring Order

Wiring order defines how the components are connected.

There are two types of equipotentials:

  • Simple equipotentials: Connect only two components.
  • Complex equipotentials: Connect two or more components.

The cabling order only affects complex equipotentials. Ordering the wires optimizes the wire and cable lengths and orients the cabling order (From/To). This makes it easy to read in the list of connections and list of cables.

There are two different types of cabling order:
  • Automatic cabling order: Automatically generated by SOLIDWORKS Electrical.
  • Manual cabling order: Manually generated by the user.
