Common Editing Actions This section explains commonly used editing commands such as hyperlinking and updating or replacing data. Contents Hyperlinks You can create and modify hyperlinks. Renumbering Marks When modifications are made to the mark settings in the electrical project configuration, you need to update the marks for existing elements in the electrical project such as components or locations. Propagating Data to Connected Objects You can propagate data through connected objects, for example, if you want to assign a channel address of a PLC to the number of the wire connected to this channel. Importing Data You can import data from Excel files or text files and use it in an electrical project. Updating Data When the app data (symbols, manufacturer parts, etc.) are changed you need to update the electrical project data to reflect the latest changes. Replacing Data You can replace data across a whole electrical project, for example to replace one manufacturer part with another, or one set of symbols with another. Data Generation Summary The Drawing generation summary dialog box automatically opens at the end of the automatic generation of data or drawings, such as the terminal strip drawings or the PLC drawings. It lists information about the creations or the updates. Understanding Undo and Redo Most of the graphical features can be undone. Some features, principally process features, cannot be undone because their impact on the database is very important and cannot be canceled. Parent topicSOLIDWORKS Electrical
