Use the Toolbox - Standards dialog box
to activate a standard for the current drawing and to create, edit, import, and export standards.
To open the Toolbox - Standards dialog box:
Do one of the following:
- Click Standards
(Toolbox toolbar).
- In the menu bar, click .
Active standard
The Active standard is the standard that is currently in use in the drawing. It is used as the default standard in drop-down lists in the Toolbox - Hardware and Toolbox - Holes dialog boxes.
Custom standards
You can create custom standards by copying basic standards. You can then select a custom standard and perform any of the following:
Copy
|
Creates a new custom standard.
|
Delete
|
Removes the selected custom standard.
|
Rename
|
Lets you change the name of the selected standard.

Edit
|
Opens the Toolbox - Table Editor, where you can view and modify the table data for the standard. |
Activate
|
Makes the selected standard the active standard for the drawing.
|
Import
|
Lets import a .sqlite file into Toolbox
as a custom standard. |
Export
|
Lets you export a custom standard as a file with the extension .sqlite.
You can share the standard with other DraftSight Toolbox users.

No active standard |
Determines the active standard state that the software saves in the Toolbox profile.

If you select No active standard, the value for Active Standard at the top of the Standards dialog box is set to None.
In the Toolbox - Hardware or Toolbox - Holes dialog boxes, the default value for Standard is ANSI Inch.
If you select a different standard on which the hardware or holes you are inserting are based:
- When you return to the dialog boxes after inserting hardware or holes, the software remembers your selection.
- When you close and reopen the dialog boxes, the software remembers your selection.

If you clear No active standard, the value for Active Standard at the top of the Standards dialog box is set to ANSI Inch by default. To change the active standard, select a standard and click Activate.
In the Toolbox - Hardware and Toolbox - Holes dialog boxes, the software sets the default value for Standard to the active standard.
If you select a different standard on which the hardware or holes you are inserting are based:
- When you return to the dialog boxes after inserting hardware or holes, the software remembers your selection.
- When you close and reopen the dialog boxes, the Standard returns to the Active Standard in the Standards dialog box.
