Toolbox - Table Editor Dialog Box

Use the Toolbox - Table Editor to view and modify values for custom standards.

To open the Toolbox - Table Editor:

  1. Click Standards (Mechanical Toolbox toolbar) or Mechanical Toolbox > Standards.
  2. In the dialog box, under Custom standards, select any standard and click Edit.

Standards List

The left pane lists all custom standards you have created. Basic standards are not listed because you cannot edit them.

To edit values in a custom standard, expand the standard and its components until you see components with a Toolbox_standards_table_data_icon icon.

Properties

The top section of the right pane contains the following editable properties:

Property Value
Type The value displayed in the Type list in many Toolbox dialog boxes.

You can modify this value but it cannot be blank.

Standard The national or industrial standard document that the table data is from.
Related Standard Other applicable standards documents.
Description Name Format The values displayed in the Description section in many Toolbox dialog boxes. The value is a template for displaying the description name.

To edit the template:

  1. Click Browse (...).
  2. In the dialog box, under Available fields, select a field and click Add to Description.

    The syntax representing the field is added at the end of the Description.

Editable Table Data

The lower section of the right pane contains editable table data. Each row represents a particular object. Each column within the row represents a specific data field of the object. The following columns and values shown are determined by the custom standard and component you select in the left pane.

Button Action
Add Row Inserts a new row at the bottom of the table with <<>> placeholders for the row values.

Placeholders turn to zeros when you begin editing the row.

You cannot add another row until you replace the <<>> placeholder text.
Delete Row Deletes selected table rows.

You can delete multiple rows by using the Ctrl key.
