The
3DEXPERIENCE
platform offers many ways to share your models.
The options here are intended for ad hoc sharing of files; you export a copy of
the design as it appears today in a standard file format and then share it through
the collaboration apps 3DDrive and 3DSwym.
To give your
colleagues access to your model as you continue to work on it, you have other options:
- Add them as members of the collaborative space that the
model (physical product) is in.
- Add the physical product to a bookmark and share it from
the Bookmark Editor app.
Share Files in 3DDrive
The 3DDrive app is similar to other file sharing services that let
you share files in folders. The Share File
option provides a direct way to share a copy of this model with external users.
Everyone who has access to the model can mark up the model and add comments.
What should I use this for?
- To get feedback from a client.
- To give the file to a manufacturer, fabricator or vendor.
- To share it with someone in your organization who is not on this
3DEXPERIENCE platform yet.
- Any other time you need to share a copy of this model in a
specific file format.
How it works
You will get a link you can share with external users. The link opens
the shared file in a limited guest view of 3DDrive.
To share
this file with members of your platform, who will get the full 3DDrive view:
- Add your colleagues to the list of users in 3DDrive who
can access the file.
- Then get the “Share With Users” link there.
Share in a 3DSwym Community or Conversation
3DSwym communities and conversations let you collaborate with
colleagues in the context of ongoing teamwork, project discussions, and ideation.
You can use Share in Community to share a
copy of this model as a picture or a viewable 3D model to enhance your post,
question, idea, wiki, or conversation. You can also share a file intended for
download and reuse elsewhere.
What should I use this for?
- To discuss this model in a team community.
- To convey a new idea.
- To illustrate the design in a conversation with a
colleague.
- To share a viewable 3D model with people who do not have a CAD
app, such as management or marketing.
- To ask a question in a user community on the Dassault Systèmes
public platform.
