Defining Uniform Base Excitation

You apply a Power Spectral Density (PSD) acceleration curve at the supports as a vertical uniform base excitation.

  1. In the Simulation study tree, right-click External Loads and select Uniform Base Excitation.
  2. In the PropertyManager under Type, select Acceleration.
  3. Under PSD Acceleration, do the following:
    1. Set Unit units.png to g^2/Hz.
    2. Select Along Plane Dir 2 and type 1.
  4. Under Variation with Frequency, select Curve and click Edit.
  5. Set Units to Hz.
  6. Type the following values for the force curve data:
    Points X Y
    1 15 0.04
    2 1000 0.04
    3 2000 0.01
  7. Click OK.
  8. Click PM_OK.gif.
The PSD acceleration is applied to all locations that are restrained in the specified direction.
