Document Properties
PhotoWorks provides options on the Document
Properties tab that affect the active document only.
To set Document Properties:
Click Options
(PhotoWorks toolbar) or PhotoWorks,
Options.
On the Document
Properties tab, edit the following:
Anti-aliasing
quality
Some rendered images contain "staircasing"
(visible regular steps in diagonal lines that should be smooth), "cording"
(thin lines whose width is incorrectly changing in regular intervals),
or other aliasing artifacts.
The levels of anti-aliasing quality are:
Medium.
Renders fast and is good for a first look. Aliasing artifacts are visible.
High.
Produces images at reasonable rendering speed. Aliasing artifacts are
usually invisible.
Very High.
Produces the highest quality images. Use this option as a final rendering
if the scene has highly reflective appearances like mirrors, and if the
image is for a presentation.

Custom. Allows you to
customize the anti-aliasing quality. Move the Custom
settings slider from Min
(fast) to Max (slow). When
set to Min (fast), the image renders
quickly with low anti-aliasing quality. When set to Max
(slow), the image renders slowly with the highest anti-aliasing
quality.
Ray tracing
Custom settings. Sets the
ray tracing depth
per document. The ray tracing depth determines how PhotoWorks treats rays
of light when those rays strike a reflective or refractive object.
For example, if you set the Number
of reflections value to 0 for a highly reflective object, the object
renders with a dull appearance. No reflective rays are cast because the
value is 0. If you change the value to 1, the object renders with a reflective
appearance because reflective rays are cast from the object.
Number
of reflections. Limits the number of reflection rays. If it is
set to 0, no reflection rays are cast. If it is set to 1, one level is
cast but a reflection ray cannot be reflected again, and so on.

Number
of refractions. Limits the number of refraction and transparency
rays. Refractions apply to transparent appearances.
If the SolidWorks scene contains
transparent appearances, PhotoWorks automatically increments the Number of refractions by four.
Image Adjustment
Image Adjustment
controls tone mapping. Tone mapping accounts for high dynamic range images,
and is synonymous with the types of adjustments found in most graphics’
applications.
The settings for Image
Adjustment include:
Brightness.
Controls the radiance of an image.
Contrast.
Controls the level of difference between light and dark areas.
Color
Saturation. Controls the level of color intensity. On most scenes,
you can set Color Saturation to
100%. On some scenes, it makes the colors glow. If the setting is too
low, the colors are washed out.

PhotoWorks Data
Store PhotoWorks data in model
file (Note: May increase file size.) Embeds referenced image files
in the SolidWorks document. Clear the check box to store links to the
files. Referenced files are used for appearances, decals, and
scenes.
Links to referenced image
files are needed to make decals visible in PhotoView 360 or in SolidWorks
when PhotoWorks is not added in. In this case, clear this option.
