Creating a Task Variant

You can copy an existing task to make a variant of it.

For example, you can copy a task that converts all configurations of SOLIDWORKS models, rename the task, and modify it to convert specifically named configurations.

To create a task variant:

  1. Expand Tasks.
  2. Right-click the task to copy and click Copy.

Copy of task name is added to the list of tasks.

  3. Double-click the copy to open its Properties dialog box.
  4. In the left pane, change the task name.
  5. If you want the task to be accessible by users in File Explorer, change the name that appears in the user's shortcut menu:
    1. Click Menu Command.
    2. Select Display a menu command in the File Explorer for this task.
    3. For Menu command, type a new name.
    4. Optionally, change the Status bar help text.
  6. Modify other task settings.
  7. Click OK.
