The client enables users to check documents in and out of the vault, increment revision and lifecycle status, and generate reports.
The vault view (the lower pane on the Task Pane File Explorer tab) displays the projects and documents in the vault. Icons display information about the projects and documents.
The local view (the upper pane on the Task Pane File Explorer tab) displays the folders and documents on your computer, with icons showing the documents' relations to documents in the vault.
You can access the Options dialog box from either the SOLIDWORKS client or SOLIDWORKS Explorer.
After a new version of the vault has been installed, you can update the clients (both SOLIDWORKS and SOLIDWORKS Explorer clients). No service pack is required.
Starting at PDMWorks 2005, ownership in SOLIDWORKS Workgroup PDM is bound to read/write access in SOLIDWORKS.
