Group Properties - General Properties

Use the Group Properties dialog box to manage groups and their rights in the Enterprise PDM vault.

To display this dialog box for a new group:

Right-click Groups and select New Group.

To display this dialog box for an existing group:

Under Groups, double-click a group.

General Properties

Enter specific information for the group in the data fields.

Group name	Name of the group.
Column view	If custom Windows Explorer column listings are set up, select a default listing to be used for the group members. The views are set up using the Columns node.
Description	Optional group description.
Add new users automatically to this group	If selected, when a new user is created in the vault, it is automatically added to this group.

Group Properties - Group Members

Use the Group Members page to add existing Enterprise PDM users to this group. A user can belong to multiple groups.
Group Properties - Administrative Permissions

Use the Administrative Permissions page to set the permissions that control the administrative tasks members of the group can perform.

Use the Permissions per Folder tab of the Folder Permissions page to give group members permissions to specific folders. You can also use the Assigned Folder Permissions tab to view and modify folder permissions.

Use the Assigned Folder Permissions tab of the Folder Permissions page to view and assign folder permissions for group members. You can also use the Permissions per Folder tab for the same purpose.
Group Properties - State Permissions Tab

Use the State Permissions tab to assign state permissions for the members of the group. You can also use the workflow editor to assign these permissions.
Group Properties - Transition Permissions

Use the Transition Permissions page to assign the transition permissions between workflow states for the group members. You can also use the workflow editor to assign these permissions.
Group Properties - Search Cards

Use the Search Cards page to set the group's access to the vault search cards.
Group Properties - BOM Permissions

Use the BOM Permissions page to set group access to BOMs defined for the vault.
Group Properties - Tasks

Use the Tasks page to set the group's access to tasks.
Group Properties - Template Permissions

Use the Template Permissions page to set group access to vault templates.
Group Properties - Warnings Tab

Use the Warnings tab to specify conditions that will block check in, check out, change state, and increment revision operations.
Group Properties - Cache Options per Folder Tab

Use the Cache Options per Folder tab of the Cache Options page to control how the Enterprise PDM software clears or refreshes the local caches of group members for designated folders. You can also use the Assigned Cache Options tab to view and modify cache options.
Group Properties - Assigned Cache Options

Use the Assigned Cache Options tab of the Cache Options page to view and assign cache options for group members. You can also use the Cache Options per Folder tab for the same purpose.
Add Group Member Dialog Box

Use the Add Group Member dialog box to add existing users to the group.
