Settings Dialog Box - Menus (For SOLIDWORKS PDM Professional only)

Use the Menus page to modify the menu options that appear to a user when they are viewing vault files in Windows Explorer.

The menu options available to users are dependent on their access permissions.

To display the Settings dialog box:

Right-click a user or group and select Settings.

Available commands

The Available commands section provides access to commands that you can add to menus.

The Flat list tab lists commands alphabetically.

The Categorized tab groups commands in these categories:

  • Administration and Customization
  • Browse and Explore
  • Clipboard
  • Preview and Properties
  • Tools
  • Versioning
  • Windows Commands
  • Workflow and Revisioning

Destination Menu

The Destination Menu section lets you choose the menu to modify by adding, removing, or reordering commands.

Select a menu from the drop-down list:

Background Right click Shortcut menu that displays when nothing is selected.
File Right Click Shortcut menu that displays when a file is selected.
Folder Right Click Shortcut menu that displays when a folder is selected.
Bar\Actions Actions menu on the SOLIDWORKS PDM menu bar.
Bar\Modify Modify menu on the SOLIDWORKS PDM menu bar.
Bar\Display Display menu on the SOLIDWORKS PDM menu bar.
Bar\Tools Tools menu on the SOLIDWORKS PDM menu bar.

Operators

Use the following operators to add, remove, and reorder commands:

tool_insert_separator.gif Insert separator
tool_insert_command.gif Insert the selected command.
tool_remove_command.gif Remove the selected command or separator.
tool_move_up.gif Move the selected command or separator up.
tool_move_down.gif Move the selected command or separator down.

Buttons

Reset Resets menus to default settings.
Copy Opens the Copy Menu Settings dialog box, where you can specify the menu settings to copy from another user to the user whose menus you are modifying.
