CATIA Part and Product File Import

You can import CATIA® V5 CATPart and CATProduct files.

The CATIA V5 Translator is a separate product.

To import CATIA V5 files:

  1. Click File > Open.
  2. Navigate to the folder containing CATIA part or product files to open.
  3. For Files of type, select CATIA V5 (*.catpart;*.catproduct).
  4. Select the CATPart or CATProduct file and click Open.
    SOLIDWORKS imports the CATIA V5 file.
    You can save an imported CATPart file as a SOLIDWORKS part file, and an imported CATProduct file as a SOLIDWORKS assembly.
