Inserting a Revision Table

There are three scenarios for inserting a revision table:

You can:

  • Insert a revision table on a drawing sheet. The first revision table you insert is the active revision table.
  • On a different drawing sheet, insert a table that references the active revision table.
  • Insert a revision table on the Model tab.

You use the same process to insert a revision table on a drawing sheet and insert a revision table on the Model tab. This procedure describes inserting a revision table on a drawing sheet.

To insert a revision table:

  1. On a drawing sheet, click Insert Revision Table (Mechanical Toolbox toolbar) or Mechanical Toolbox > Revision Table > Insert Table.
  2. To specify the table insertion point, do one of the following:
    • Click in the graphics area.
    • Type coordinates in the Command window and press Enter.
    You are prompted to add a revision.
  3. In the Command window, do one of the following:
    • To create the table without adding a revision row, type N and press Enter.

      The revision table title and headers are added to the drawing. The command is complete.

      You can add revision rows later using Mechanical Toolbox > Revision Table > Insert Revision.

    • To add a revision row while creating the table, type Y and press Enter.

      In the Toolbox - Add Revision dialog box, type information about the revision and click OK. Only the REVISION field, which is automatically set to 1, is mandatory.

      The revision table, including the first revision, is added to the drawing. A triangular revision symbol shows the revision number in the cross hairs of the tracker. You are prompted to specify a destination for the symbol.

      Locate the revision symbol by clicking in the graphics area or by typing coordinates in the Command window and pressing Enter. Alternatively, press ESC to exit the command without adding a revision symbol.
