Opening Assemblies Containing SpeedPak Subassemblies

When opening an assembly that contains subassemblies with existing SpeedPak configurations, you can specify to use the SpeedPak configuration instead of the last-saved configuration for some or all of the subassemblies.

Switching All Subassemblies to SpeedPak

When opening an assembly, you can use the SpeedPak configuration instead of the last-saved configuration for all subassemblies.

  1. Click Open (Standard toolbar) or File > Open .
  2. In the Open dialog box, select Use SpeedPak.
  3. Click Open.
    For subassemblies whose last-saved configuration is the parent of a SpeedPak configuration, the SpeedPak configuration is used.
    After an assembly is opened, you can switch subassemblies back and forth between a SpeedPak configuration and the SpeedPak's parent configuration. See Switching Between SpeedPak and Parent Configurations.

Switching Selected Subassemblies to SpeedPak

When opening an assembly, you can use the SpeedPak configuration instead of the last-saved configuration for selected subassemblies.

Use Selective Open to specify to use the SpeedPak configuration instead of the last-saved configuration of selected subassemblies. The subassemblies you select must have SpeedPak configurations already derived from the last-saved configuration.

To use SpeedPak for selected subassemblies:

  1. Click Open (Standard toolbar) or File > Open .
  2. In the Open dialog box:
    1. Browse to the assembly you want to open.
    2. Under Mode, select Large Design Review.
    3. Click Open.
    In the FeatureManager design tree:
    • indicates a subassembly whose last-saved configuration is a SpeedPak configuration.
    • indicates a subassembly whose last-saved configuration is the parent of a SpeedPak configuration.
  3. On the CommandManager, click Selective Open or Selective Open in Lightweight .
  4. Do one of the following:
    • For , select the subassembly.
    • For , right-click the subassembly and select Use SpeedPak.
  5. Continue with selections as usual for Selective Open.
    The assembly loads the SpeedPak configurations you selected for subassemblies, plus other components you specified to load. In the FeatureManager design tree, the icon indicates subassemblies currently using a SpeedPak configuration.
    After an assembly is opened, you can switch subassemblies back and forth between a SpeedPak configuration and the SpeedPak's parent configuration. See Switching Between SpeedPak and Parent Configurations.
