Use the Viewers page to define
the external viewers that are used for the View File
command.
The
View File command is used if:
- A file type is not supported by the built-in preview
- Users want to open a file in a separate viewer window
- Users want to view files that are outside the vault
These settings do not affect the built-in Preview tab, which displays a preview for
supported
file types when a user selects a file in a vault.
To display the Settings dialog box:
Right-click a user or group and select Settings.

Installed viewers
|
Lists viewers that have been associated with the View File command.
Select an existing association to edit it.

Add (SOLIDWORKS PDM Professional only)
|
Adds a viewer to the list.
|

Remove (SOLIDWORKS PDM Professional only)
|
Removes a selected viewer from the list.
|

Extensions
|
Extensions of file types to be supported by the viewer you are
adding.
Multiple file types are separated with commas.
An * matches any kind of file.

Paths and arguments
to viewer program:
|
The full path to the viewer application.
|
|
|
Lets you choose the file name argument or choose from a list of
environment variables.
