Automated CMM Data Import

CMM data lets you program header notes for a measurement's applicable balloon reference so that CMM Data Import can automatically identify it. This eliminates the need to manually search for matching CMM results. It is recommended that you automate CMM Data Import.

You must enclose PPAP/FAI identification information between square brackets [ ] as a note before the measurement results. (You can also use the character you defined in the CMM Template Editor as a blueprint identification marker.)

The square brackets can contain four types of comma-delimited information:

[ITEM ID,AXIS,MEASUREMENT NOTE,SPECIFICATION NOTE]

Location Description
1 Identifies the item (balloon) number from the drawing. You must identify this with the word "item" (such as Item 12), or the word you defined in Text Markers settings as blueprint identification markers.
2 Identifies the axis to which the item number relates (TP). This location is optional, but only if there is one axis in the CMM report for that measurement (as shown above).
3 (Optional.) Identifies notes to include in the report for the measurement results (AT 18.0 DIM. (ITEM 1)).
4 (Optional.) Identifies notes to include regarding the specification and GD&T feature control frames.
The simplest format is to identify the item number and not have any specification or measurement notes to add. This format without an axis identification can only be used if there is only one axis reported. For example:
