Working with Locations This topic explains the different aspects of locations. Contents Locations A location is a place. Different locations are generally connected by cables. Every electrical component (such as devices or terminal strips, PLC) belongs to a location. It is, therefore, possible to include electrical components by location to obtain different lists based on the equipment contained in each location. Creating a Location You can create a location. Creating Multiple Locations You can create multiple locations at the same time using the Create several locations command. Location Properties This topic explains the options in the Location Properties tab. The dialog automatically opens during the creation of a new location. Setting a Default Location SOLIDWORKS Electrical defines a default location within a project. When you create a new book, it automatically gets associated with the default location. When you create a drawing, it uses the location assigned to its parent book. Inserting Location Outline Location outlines let graphically show a (geographic) location on a drawing. The location outline can be represented as a rectangle or created with polylines, but should always be closed. Parent topicManaging Locations and Functions
