Wire Cabling Order Dialog Box

The cabling order is performed globally across the electrical project or on a single wire.

To access Wire cabling order, do one of the following:
  • Click Electrical project > Wire cabling order (handles all wires in the electrical project) .
  • In a dockable panel, right-click an electrical project and click Electrical project > Wire cabling order management (handles all wires in the electrical project).
  • Right-click a wire and click Wire cabling order (handles only selected wires).
  • Click Terminal strip editor > Wire cabling order (handles only selected wires).

The left part of the dialog box shows the list of the complex equipotentials. The upper half shows the various symbols connected to the wire. The lower part shows the from/to results of the wiring order. The wiring order also lets you manage cabling cores (see the Cabling section.)

Equipotentials

If this command is launched from the wire context menu, only the selected equipotentials appear in the list. If it is launched from the Electrical project menu, select the equipotentials from the list on the left.
Option Description
Automatically add wires for all Manages the cabling order across all the complex equipotentials. The order of components that are connected depends on their mark (alphanumeric sort). The cabling order that this operation generates is referred to as an Automatic cabling order.
Delete wires for all Deletes the wiring order for the whole project.
Automatically add wires for selection Adds wires automatically for the selected equipotentials.
Delete wire for selection Deletes the wires of selected equipotentials.

Components Connected on Equipotential

The cabling order generated by the following commands is referred to as Manual cabling order.
Option Description
Add wire From point Select a mark in the list and click Add wire From point. The mark is automatically added to the Origin column.
Replace origin with point Changes the origin.
Add wire To point Select a mark in the list and click Add wire To point. The mark is automatically added to the Destination column.
Replace destination with point Changes the destination.
To open the drawing in which the symbol is inserted, do one of the following:
  • Right-click a component and click Go to.
  • Double-click the component.

You can also drag marks between the origin and the destination, or drag marks from the upper left into either the origin or destination on any of the connections.

Equipotential Wires

Option Description
Automatically add wires Generates the wiring order automatically on a complex wire.
Delete wires Erases the selected connection lines.
Switch origin and destination Reverses the origin and destination component marks.
Associate/ Disassociate cable cores Changes the cabling.
