Terminal Context Menu

This section explains the different commands in the context menu for a terminal.

Option Description
Symbol properties Opens the Terminal properties dialog box. For more information, see Terminal Properties.
Assign component Assigns the selected terminal to an existing component (terminal strip). For more information, see Assigning Components.
Attributes Edit Attributes . Modifies the terminal attributes. For more information, see Editing Symbol Attributes.

Connection Point. Manages the display of the material terminals.

View Attributes. Displays the symbol attributes.

Edit symbol terminals Opens the dialog box to edit the material terminals of the component. For more information, see Modifying Terminal Numbers.
Symbol Update. Updates the inserted terminal in relation to its definition in Symbol management.

Replace. Replaces the inserted terminal with another terminal in Symbol management.

Open Symbol. Opens the symbol in the modification interface to change its graphics, attributes, or connection points. For more information, see Edit Symbol Graphics.

Add to library. Adds the inserted terminal to Symbol management. For more information, see Adding a New Symbol.

Component Properties Opens a dialog box that lets you edit the component and allocate the mark, location and function, enter data specific to the component, and assign a manufacturer part. For more information, see Component Properties.
Component

Change function . Changes the function associated with the terminal.

Assign manufacturer parts . Assigns one or more manufacturer parts to the terminal.

Remove manufacturer parts. Removes manufacturer parts associated with the terminal.

Insert symbol. Inserts a terminal for this component.

Insert connection label for components. Inserts a connection label associated with the terminal.

Define Level Enter the number of levels on the selected terminals.
Change terminal strip Moves the selected terminals to another terminal strip.
Go to Go to browser. Displays the list of symbols associated with the selected component in the Components tab. This feature is used if the component is defined by a very large number of symbols. For more information, see

. Lets you go to the terminal graphical representation in the terminal strip.

Terminal strip properties Opens the properties of the terminal strip on which the terminal is located.
Edit terminal strip Opens the terminal strip on which the terminal is located so that you can edit it.
Update terminal strip Updates the drawing of the terminal strip on which the terminal is located.
Cabling Wire cabling order. Produces the cabling order upstream or downstream of the terminal.

Cable core association. Produces the cabling upstream or downstream of the terminal.

Orientation Specifies the rotation angle.
Icon Description
Specifies a 0° rotation.
Specifies a 90° rotation.
Specifies a 180° rotation.
Specifies a 270° rotation.

Free rotation. Use the mouse to rotate the terminal.

Invert. Makes a mirror image of the terminal.

Move Moves the terminal.
Cut Copies the terminal into the SOLIDWORKS Electrical Clipboard. The terminal is deleted.
Copy Copies the terminal into the SOLIDWORKS Electrical Clipboard.
Copy with insertion point Copies the terminal into the SOLIDWORKS Electrical Clipboard and defines the insertion point.
Hyperlink Creates or edits a link to an external file.
Delete Deletes the terminal from the drawing.
