You specify some parameters to control the solution.
To set the properties of the study:
-
In the Simulation study tree, right-click the study icon and select Properties.
-
In the Nonlinear - Static
dialog box, on the Solution tab, in the
Stepping options box, do the
following:
-
Make sure End
time is set to 1.
-
Under Time
increment, make sure Automatic (autostepping) is selected.
-
Set the Initial time
increment to 0.1.
-
Make sure 1.e-8
and 0.1 are set for the
Min and Max boxes respectively.
The total number of steps in this case will be
determined by autostepping.
-
In the Geometry nonlinearity options box, make sure Use large displacement formulation is selected.
-
Under Solver
Selection:
-
Make sure Automatic
is selected.
-
Click Advanced
Options.
-
In the Nonlinear - Static
dialog box, on the Advanced tab, in the
Method box, make sure Control is set to Force and Iterative
technique is set to NR
(Newton-Raphson).
-
In the Step/Tolerance options box:
- Make sure Convergence tolerance is set to 0.001.
- Set the Singularity elimination factor (0-1) to 0.
-
Click OK.
